Chrismon Tree & Holiday Decorating

Advent begins December 2

Every year we erect a beautiful pre-lit Christmas tree in our sanctuary for the seasons of Advent and Christmas.  It is then decorated with our beautiful collection of handmade Chrismons.  A team is now forming to erect the tree prior to Dec 2.

Sun, Nov 25, following worship, we need a FEW STRONG MEN to help set up the tree and several tables to hold the Chrismon boxes as it is decorated.  We will also need to have the pew stanchions gathered to the sanctuary as well.

During that week, beginning Tuesday, Nov 27, volunteers will be needed to assist with bringing up the Chrismons (from storage on the lower level) and to begin decorating the tree. This includes folks that can move up a ladder to place the higher ornaments. Photos of previous years help to guide placement of some of the larger pieces.  This is very much a “worker bee” ministry especially for those who appreciate the history and tradition of the delicate handmade ornaments.  A team will also be needed to set up the pew stanchions.

If you would be interested in assisting with this ministry team, please be in contact with the church office or mark a Communications Slip in an upcoming Sunday bulletin.

There are many tasks and your help is greatly appreciated!
